I began researching this topic in my senior year at the University of North Dakota. With the help of Professor Fred Remer and Dr. Matthew Gilmore, I conducted a survey of over 2,100 broadcast meteorologists across the nation. The survey consisted of 15 questions, 5 of them were demographic based. I asked a variety of questions, some of which included how meaning demeaning/obscene comments do you receive on a monthly basis and do you think the terms weather boy/girl are demeaning.
